I am very glad I got this as there have been many flues around this year. Why I wrote a review: Mine will not read poperly unless I wipe it every single time I use it. This advice is written right on the thing but I thought (for my own crazy reasons) it was being facetious. It works perfectly when you wipe it with a dry cotton swab every single time you use it. I think this is probably the main reason its receiving poor reviews. Hope this review helps so that when one needs it to work it will.

|Cool gadget, if nothing else,
I bought this primarily as an ear thermometer for my kids, but it also allegedly is able to sense the temperature of other things just by being pointed at them. This appeals to my inner geek.
It is really well priced and seems to work well though I have yet to use it to actually check for a fever. My only complaint is that the blue ‘scan’ button at the top of the unit is not a sealed control. It would be nice if it were seamless so that it doesn’t give the impression of potentially trapping dirt or admitting moisture. But all-in-all, I’m very pleased with the purchase.

|Digital Thermometer,
I just switched to this thermometer after three years my original one wore out. I love it!! It took a few minutes to set up the date and time but after that it is just press and go to get my son’s temp. Thank you for making it so easy!
